Praise and blame, gain and loss, pleasure and sorrow come and go like the wind. To be happy, rest like a great tree in the midst of them all.

  1. This is a lovely picture as well as beautiful thought. I have to work to find that calm spot within myself these days.

I love your bird treat idea. My Grandmother used to melt suet, stir in birdseed, pour it into paper cups to harden. She'd set up her Christmas tree outside after Christmas, and invite the neighbor kids over to decorate the tree for the birds. Your idea would fit right in!

  2. Sometimes it is not easy at all to rest like a great tree in the midst of it all. Some great trees get broken in storms ...

But we shall survive, I am sure !

    Wishing you peace,
    Eva

  3. Hello Linda,
What a great idea your grandmother had! It's so fun to supply the wild birds with food during the winter. It helps them out and the bonus for us is we get to enjoy watching them.
    Have a nice day,
    Lydia
