LADYBUG

This ladybug painting was created for my daughter. It was done in oils and I decided to use an analogous color scheme for this composition. I still have yet to mat and frame it, so that I can finally get it hanging in her room. By the time I do get around to hanging it, she'll be too old to like this ladybug painting.

  1. What a beauty, your ladybug! I love the warm tones of pink, red, and purple. The outer ring looks like a flower to me.

Your daughter will never get too old to enjoy it. The painting is appealing to young and old eyes.

It can be used as a mandala for meditation because of its round form.

    Well done, Lydia!

  2. givethemhell, I'm so happy you like it. I painted it two years ago and I still have to get it on my daughter's wall. I also have a dragonfly and butterfly to paint to this series I did. They've been drawn out for awhile. now I have to get to painting them. They will both be done in an analogous color scheme too.

  5. Now come on Lydia - get that frame and mat for it. Is it a regular size - can you get a ready made frame?
It's really great any kid would love it but especially a girl.
