My First Sunflower Bloom of the Season

This is the first sunflower bloom of mine this season. I planted about fifteen mammoth sunflowers in my garden this year. Only 8 of them came up, because the family of chipmonks that live in the trail behind my garden love to dig my seeds up to store as tasty treats for themselves early in the summer. Oh well, I figure they need to eat too, so this is why I always plant extra sunflower seeds in my vegetable garden every spring.Photo of bee on sunflower By "Me"

  2. Hello Amber,
Yes they are cheery. This is one reason why I love to plant them in the garden. Looking at them seems to put me in a better mood when I feel down.
    Thank you!

  6. Hello Wendiva, How exciting that you've been to Italy. Italy is one of the countries on my list of wanting to visit someday. My parents are from there and all of my brothers have been there. I'm the only one in my family that has not visited Italy yet.
    Have a great day!

  9. Good afternoon, dear Lydia,
you will love Italy when you visit it. I especially like Venice, but Florence and Rome, too. They are beautiful cities with a long tradition, culture and history.
And Italian food is so delicious - it makes my mouth water ...
    Wishing you a pleasant Friday,
    Lia

  10. Hello Lia,
I really do want to go there to visit. Hopefully sooner than later. I wish when I do go to visit, I can stay for 1 month. This is how long my parents use to stay when they use to go back to visit the family still there.
They come from a very small town about 1 half hour south of Rome. They also have family in the city of Rome.
I'm sure the food is out of this world too,and not to forget to mention the wine. Many people make their own wine in Italy.
    Have a great afternoon.
