There is no fire grater than hatred and greed.
Hatred is appalling and greed is disgusting.

Indian Corn

(My front door)

How disappointed I was today when I went to the garden center to look for old fashioned shrub roses on clearance. I guess I got there a little too late, because they were all sold out of them. I usually buy my roses around this time, because you can purchase them for next to nothing.
Instead I ended up buying a bunch of pretty Indian corn for my door, a sugar pumpkin to bake for dinner tonight and 1 candy apple for each of my kids. At least they'll be very excited to have a sweet treat for snack this afternoon.

Our Burm In Autumn

A few years ago I had a burm put in my front yard, so I could create a natural privacy screen between my front yard and the passing pedestrians and cars that go by. It's grown so much since then and is most definitely doing well as an attractive barrier.
(These are the burning bushes planted on the burm.) There are bushes, roses and grasses planted on this burm. Now is the prettiest time to admire them all. The Burning bushes are one of my favorites, with their beautiful bright autumn colors. Right now the grasses have grown so high, that there pom poms dance back and forth in the wind all day and night. The roses have turned to orange hips now, but during the summer they bloom with yellow, red and white roses.

Painted Gourds

Well I'm back from my break. . Some of my time was spent taking photos of nature and painting the basket of gourds above. I'm still working on finishing my painting. Hopefully I can have it finished painting posted by next week. Unfortunately, when I finally had all the gourds painted, my son got hold of them and started peeling the paint off. This is why there's some chipping on them. That's o.k., because things in life don't have to be perfect to be beautiful. As a matter of fact, it's the dents and dings from life, that create a unique beauty with each and everyone of us, no matter what others may say or think about us.
It's great to be back and I look forward to spending more time visiting everyone else's blogs. I thank everyone who came and visited my blog while I was off.
