Violets In Vase
Since it's so dreary where I'm at today, I decided to write a post about one of my more colorful watercolors. This watercolor was painted by me back in 1998. The name of this painting is called"Violets in Vase." I hope the colors will cheer those up who are bored of these dreary, cold days the same way I am, also the god awful repetition of repeated every day occurrences .

Your violets are so cheery and colorful, Lydia, messengers of spring.
ReplyDeleteHello Eva, Thank you for liking my painting. I thought it would be cheery for this gloomy day in my neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteWell, the day is just as gloomy over here. Your pretty vase of violets is beautiful, the colors being so bright.
ReplyDeleteI love this cheerful painting too, Lydia. I think you're an awesome painter:)
ReplyDeleteI've been catching up on your lovely posts, quotes and pictures. I love the crystaline snow tree and the intimate view of the pink flower as well as your chosen quotes.....
Hello Linda, Thank you for the lovely complements. I'm trying to make time to paint more these days, but it's still hard to do with the kids.
ReplyDeleteHello Eva, I'm so happy that my painting is able to bring a ray of sunshine into your life.
ReplyDeleteLydia, of all the paintings that you've posted, I think this one of the pansies is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteIt is cheerful, and I love the colors!
Hi Lydia,
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you get back to painting again these days and am looking forward very much to seeing more of your artwork on the blog.
The violets are wonderful, everyone with two different colors, and their faces so sweet.
Hello Jan, Thank you. I thought that the vibrant colors of this painting would cheer those up who are experiencing those dreadful winter blues.
ReplyDeleteHello Eva, It's so nice to be getting back into my art again. It's been so hard for me to find the time. I am now going to make it a priority to at least pick up my brush three times a week.
i love water coloring .. i used to as a kid .. had a whole journal of paintings.
ReplyDeleteLydia..I am laughing at myself for calling your orchids, pansies, but one of your commenters jogged my realization that I had done so.
ReplyDeleteI had just visitied another blogger, a wonderful gardener, and their blog is always filled with flowers of every kind, so I guess that's where my mind was.
No matter..I love the watercolor! :)
P.S. I keep going back to the site with the window cleaner, and it is still crashed from having so many visitors.
I really wanted you to see it, because I know you would have liked it.
I will keep checking, and as soon as it is up and running again, I will send it to you!
Hello Nabeel, Welcome to my blog. Painting is so fun and relaxing.I do hope you come back and visit again.
ReplyDeleteHello Jan, Don't worry about that at all, I didn't even realize you did call them orchids. I still can't find where you wrote the word orchids in your comment. If you did that's very o.k. I would love to see the window cleaner site. Please do let me know when it is up and running again.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are so large and vivacious (if you can call flowers that), I thought they were pansies (I prefer them to petunias). Again, it's so nice to see a dash of colour to remind us that the dingy grey snow and slush will soon be only a memory.
ReplyDeleteKat
Thank you kat.
ReplyDeleteYour Violets in Vase are beautiful. I followed GiventhemHell's advice and came here. To find, that, you too decided to post an entry that was bright and colorful and would take us away for a while, from the cold winter. Serendipity! I love this!Maybe I should start a vegan diet!
ReplyDeleteHello Anangeli, Welcome! Thank you for visiting my blog. I thought we all could use some cheer with bright colors since it's so dreary here and in many other parts of the world right now. If you decide to become a vegan, you can do it slowly instead of diving right into it.
