New Butterfly Painting

This butterfly painting is done in guasche. It's been sitting under my bed, half finished for over a year now. Yesterday I decided to pick it up and finish it. I haven't named it yet, but it will be part of the butterfly cards I'm creating. If anyone has any ideas of a name for this painting, I'd love the input. Have a wonderful weekend. For those of you who live where it's cold, stay warm and cozy!

  1. I would call this butterfly "Green-winged Hope". To me, it looks like a symbol of hope.

The painting is beautiful, Lydia, with its contrasting colors of green and purple/pink.

  3. Finally catching up~~ My goodness! You've been incredibly creative lately! Beautiful, just beautiful. It makes me think of summer days in my garden... a welcome escape from the ice and snow we are wrapped in right now!

  4. Givethemhell, Hi! Thank you for your input. I think I will use your suggested name. I really like it a lot. I'm happy you like the colors. When it comes to my butterfly cards, I try to use colors for their meanings too.

Hello Jan, Thanks for coming by. I guess I'm on an art kick right now, but I'll soon be posting more recipes again.

Sue, Hi, I'm glad to see your feeling better. I'm so tierd of being indoors and looking out my back window only to see a white snow covered lanscape. Oh how I long for new life to spring up from the ground again!

  5. Actually, what you could do, is to put all the butterflies you have on display, one after the other, telling us the names and their spiritual meaning for the meditation card deck. How about it?

  10. Lydia, it is so hard to get time to paint or do anything creative. Not just the physical time, but also the mental time. Even if you have two hours to yourself, I am sure you think of what needs to be done for others or housework firstly. This painting is gorgeous. I love the strong colours.
