Ingredients;
3 tbs olive oil
1 medium onion, sliced
5 medium cloves of garlic, minced
10 medium mushrooms, chopped
2 cans of crushed tomatoes
1/3 cup water
1 tbs basil
1/2 tbs oregano
1 tsp rosemary
Salt and pepper to taste
In a medium frying pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and mushrooms to the pan. Saute for about ten minutes or until soft. Add chopped garlic to the pan and saute for an additional 3 minutes. Transfer the sauteed vegetables to your crock pot, then add the rest of the ingredients. Put the pot on high until sauce starts to boil. Stir occasionally. After the sauce has started to boil, reduce heat to low and cover for the rest of the day. There's nothing better than arriving home from work, and having your dinner more than half complete, as your walking through the front door.
This tomato sauce sounds good. I have never tried to let a pot cook all by itself while I am out and about. I always thought I might come home and find the whole kitchen burning ...
ReplyDeleteHello Olivia, I've never had any trouble leaving my crock poton all day, if I kept it on low. If some people feel uneasy about leaving it on all day, they can choose to use it when they don't have time to sit in front of the stove and they're in and out all day running errands.
ReplyDeleteLydia, thanks for the wonderful crock pot recipe! I can't wait to try it next week!
ReplyDeleteIt looks really good.
ReplyDeleteI usually never have the patience for a crock pot.

Hello Amber, Your very welcome. I just may start experimenting with a crockpot again. It would leave me time to do other things, while cooking a great meal at the same time.
ReplyDeleteHello Oswegan, I haven't used one in so long, but I may just give it a try again. Everyone I know who has one loves it. I used to love mine. I'll have to go out and buy a new one because mine got tossed out a while ago.
